Poor sales with MRI tanning lotion
« on: February 04, 2009, 04:07:23 PM »
A friend of mine carries the entire line. Apparently the sales of MRI have not been good so she is getting rid of it and switching to Supre. Lots of promises never delivered. Don't blame her all the bottles look the same in that line. Itan this I that. Put any of that next to a bottle of hooked with a straight 2 dollar commission for the employee and they will sell Hooked 2 to 1 easy.

Is anyone else having poor sales with MRI? I know the other board is owned by them so tough to get a good read on there. Nothing but sales people claiming to be helping. It is so bad anymore I can't take it. I hope folks join me on here. Somebody else has to be sick of it.

I think that is pretty standard. Very tough to sell something that nobody ever heard of. Why fight city hall.

We sell mostly Devoted Creations and Designer Skin. Each bottle looks different and they are all quite good. Another positive is most regular tanners know the brands and love them very little needed to sell a bottle provided it matches the need. New hot looking bottles always sells best.

It is funny you say the bottles all look the same. I always thought that too. Talk about boring. A few shocking colors equals boring. to me

This is a way to stiff ETS for owning everything. Problem is ETS still has 80+ of the top 100 products and MRI has zero in top 200 lotions.

Not sure what the margin is on it but it better be amazing to offset the labor and pissed off customers you get trying to "educate" them on a new line. I have found Designer Skin and Caribbean Gold to be more than enough to cover every type of need. Some are on the internet but really if the .001% lost to the internet bugs you then sell your salon.

Better to sell more than less.

I started off liking the concept of small and exclusive.

But they sell to some of the larger chains in my area and those chains do more harm than good to the brand. With a poorly trained staff and terrible sales tactics have made they brand into a bad thing.

Makes it impossible to sell here in Chicago.

The MRI tanning lotions might not be working well on babies. Your price might should not be going to look for slower to  that some.
