Bed Cleaning Nightmare
« on: August 18, 2008, 07:36:22 PM »
Recently went to a local salon to check it out. The girls were using these nasty old rags that were like old T-Shirts but gross.

Did a tour of the place and found grime all over the place. Lotion splatter on the walls just nasty. There really should be a law to protect people. You can get hep in the best as well as other stuff. I don't know how people can go there

Happens all the time when you go to see other places. I think this can really help sell your salon since it must be clean. As to illegal it depends on the state some don't even check to see if sanitizer is used.

So this was a pretty old post but I had an experience that reminded me of it.  I recently went to a smaller salon when I was out of town.  I saw grime last time but this time was just horrible.  The beds had clumps of dust and hair inside the bed below the lamps.  You could easily see it and all that separated you from all that nasty stuff was a piece of plastic.  The bed is your main reason come, why would you leave it looking so poorly.  I actually left without tanning.  I could not even image laying in that thing no matter how clean the outside was.

Did you say anything to the owner or whoever was up front?  That is sad that any business does nto care enough to clean their main equipment.  I'd find it hard to believe the lamps were any good anyway.

That's just sad, not surprising but sad.  I don't like people telling me what to do but I think that is why we need some regulations.  Salons like that should not be allowed to operate.  They just give an industry a bad name

Yeah and that place was actually recommended by someone I met.  I should move there and open up, I'd be the top salon just because I clean.

Yeah I see alot of places that I think I should open up because the salons stink but then I wonder if they stink because it's just a bad area for a salon and never make money.  I'm happy where I am, I think if I ever moved away I would try something new.  It was alot of work to get my place where it is and I don't think I'd have the energy to do it all again.

I figure those places are not worth the effort.  I'd never start another salon, not enough energy to deal with it now.  There are many thing's I'd do different though which would be nice.
